After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Irvine, Dr. Saima Jalal received her medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. Her internship in Internal Medicine was acquired in Chicago at Louis Weiss Memorial Hospital.
In 2007, upon completion of her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, Dr. Jalal joined the professional staff of Fox Valley Ophthalmology. She is board-certified in Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Illinois State Medical Society, the Kane County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
The daughter of a career diplomat, Dr. Jalal grew up experiencing diverse cultures while living in several countries around the world. She is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, English, and conversational Japanese. Dr. Jalal and her husband, a local cardiologist, have chosen to make their permanent home in the Fox Valley area with their three children.
