After graduating with honors from the University of Illinois in 1991, Dr. Heffelfinger received his MD degree from Rush University in Chicago in 1995. He completed a surgical internship and ophthalmology residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center in 1999. He then completed a glaucoma fellowship with the glaucoma specialists of Northwestern University School of Medicine.
Dr. Heffelfinger joined Fox Valley Ophthalmology in July 2000. He sees patients in our St. Charles and Elgin offices, treating both general ophthalmology and glaucoma patients. As a cataract surgeon, his special interest is the use of toric or bifocal lens implants to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses after cataract surgery.
