Dr. Alexandria Halkias joined Fox Valley Ophthalmology in 2001 and brings a combination of expertise and accomplishment to our practice, particularly in the area of contact lens capabilities.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University in Chicago in 1985, Dr. Halkias went on to a four-year professional program at the Illinois College of Optometry where she was awarded her Doctor of Optometry in 1989. During her Optometric Externship at the Great Lakes Naval Station, she gained special expertise in pediatrics, binocular vision, contact lens prescription and management, and advanced ophthalmic care. Those insights now greatly benefit her patients as she specializes in fitting contact lenses and providing eye care for patients of all ages and vision levels.
Dr. Halkias is certified in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and received a Pediatric and Binocular Vision Award from the Illinois College of Optometry.
