Over the last two decades, in fact, we've grown hand-in-hand with many of our patients' families, often caring for each succeeding generation as well as families new to the area.
Fox Valley Ophthalmology, located in St. Charles and Elgin, Illinois, maintains a reputation for quality eye care. We offer exams and treatments for a wide range of eye health disorders, complete muscle balance testing and correction for children, 24-hour emergency care, the latest in laser vision correction, and laser and no-stitch cataract surgery. We have both retina and glaucoma specialists on staff.
Fox River Valley Medical Service, Ltd. was founded by Alan B. Hefner, M.D. on May 31, 1972 — and later renamed Fox Valley Ophthalmology, Ltd. in 1976. Dr. Hefner operated out of an office on Dean Street in St. Charles, IL, growing the practice to capacity.
In 1992, Eric Quartetti, M.D. joined the team, followed by Brian Heffelfinger, M.D. in 2000. In 2003, a new building was constructed at 40W330 LaFox Road in St. Charles and the practice relocated. A second office in Elgin followed, and the practice has continued to grow — today serving patients with five M.D.s and two O.D.s across both locations.
